Services reinstated on Somerset bus routes

  • Buses of Somerset announce September network changes

Reinstated bus routes will help customers stay connected, says Buses of Somerset as it announces September network changes for its services in Somerset.

The changes, which are part of a twice-yearly network review, come into force on Sunday 1 September. The majority of journeys will stay the same, with improvements to three services on the Buses of Somerset network.

In April’s network changes, some reductions and changes were made to the 25 service in order to keep it running. In response to customer demand, the 25 service will now have its connection to Milverton reinstated.

On the popular 28 route, an additional Saturday afternoon journey will be reinstated, to help shoppers and visitors from Taunton to Minehead.

The number 7 service from Taunton to Galmington has been extended to serve Taunton station, with timings aligned with connecting rail services. Meanwhile, the 54 trial route to Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum has been extended to January 2025.

James Eustace, Commercial Director for Buses of Somerset, said: “Following the wider changes that were made in April, September’s network changes are more minor. We worked closely with local bus users groups and the council, and the result is an extension to the 7 service, as well as reinstating journeys on the 25 and 28 to improve things for our passengers.

“We’re always reviewing our network, and as we’re already starting to plan for next year’s changes, we welcome customer feedback on what they’d like to see next.”
