RailAir announces fare changes
- Changes will come into force on Sunday 13 October
- Fare adjustments, new discount offers, and simplification of ticket options
RailAir has announced fare changes for its RA1 (Reading-Heathrow), RA2 (Guildford and Woking - Heathrow, and RA3 (Watford- Heathrow) services.
The popular RailAir coach services carry more than 440,000 passengers a year, linking key locations across the South East to Heathrow Airport.
The majority of RailAir fares have remained unchanged for the last five years, and while some fares will rise to reflect rising inflationary pressures, the range of tickets will be simplified, including new ticket options to reflect customer needs.
- A new ‘90 Day Return’ ticket giving increased flexibility for customers making longer trips from Heathrow.
- Improved offers for regular customers, including a new 10 journey ticket discount (available on the First Bus app and RailAir.com).
- Heathrow commuter and intermediate fares remain unchanged.
- Child fares will be half the price of all adult tickets on all RailAir services.
- National Rail Cards offer a 33% discount on selected products.
- The best fares are online on RailAir.com and the First Bus app, with no booking fees, and the ability to track the coach in real time on the app.
James Eustace, Commercial Director at First Bus South which operates RailAir, said:
“Our fares represent great value for travelling in a hassle free, sustainable way. It’s been five years since we last changed our prices, and in that time we’ve made major investment in our service, including launching RailAir 3 from Watford to Heathrow and investing £2million in new RailAir coaches. We’ve also increased the frequency of RailAir 1, with journeys now every 20 minutes from Reading to Heathrow Airport.
“In order to continually improve RailAir, we are adjusting some fares to ensure we’re able to invest in the service for our customers. While this means some fares will rise, we’ve also simplified our fares, so customers will be able to take advantage of the best prices online, along with new ticket offers and savings to better suit their needs.”
