Cornwall by Kernow, by First Bus South, is proud to announce its corporate partnership with Truro’s Hall for Cornwall, home to the Cornwall Playhouse.
Serving Cornish communities since 1929, Cornwall by Kernow buses has a proud history in Cornwall, running nearly 100 bus routes across the county. The new partnership with Hall for Cornwall - the region’s only large-scale theatre - further cements the operator’s commitment to the local communities it serves.
Alongside an extensive stage programme, Hall for Cornwall is also a social enterprise and charity dedicated to offering arts and culture to all. The bus operator will support Hall for Cornwall’s charitable aims, as well as working in partnership to provide sustainable travel options to access the theatre.
The partnership kicks off with Cornwall by Kernow as official sponsors of this year’s Christmas Show, Peter Pan at the Truro theatre. The bus operator is offering advice and information on how to access the theatre by bus, including local routes T1 and T2 (Penzance & St Ives to Truro), U1, U1X and U1A (Falmouth, Penryn & Newquay to Truro), 27 (St Austell to Truro) and 91 (Newquay to Truro) will take theatre goers directly to the theatre’s doorstep.
To celebrate the partnership, Cornwall by Kernow is giving away eight tickets to Peter Pan, along with a once in a lifetime opportunity to go behind the scenes and watch rehearsals for the production. Go to the Cornwall by Kernow website or follow on Twitter (@by_kernow) and Cornwall by Kernow Facebook to see how to win tickets.
Simon Goff, First Bus South’s Managing Director, said: “We’re proud to serve communities across Cornwall, and by partnering with Hall for Cornwall, we’re supporting an integral part of Cornwall’s culture and community.
“Working together, we want to encourage people to choose the bus as their preferred method of travel, supporting people where they can to use public transport to access this fantastic theatre.”
Julien Boast, Chief Executive of Hall for Cornwall, added: “As a major venue in a rural area, we know our audiences travel from far and wide to get to us. We’re thrilled to welcome First Bus South operator of Cornwall by Kernow buses as the official sponsor of Peter Pan, transporting families into a magical world this festive season."
