Cornwall by Kernow announces September network changes
Cornwall by Kernow has announced network changes for its bus services in Cornwall. The changes, which are part of a twice-yearly network review, come into force on Sunday 1 September 2024.
The changes include improvements to the U1 which will now serve Newquay station, as well as a revised timetable on the 24/24X to provide better connections across St Austell towards Mevagissey and Heligan. Timetable changes have been designed to improve punctuality on the network, helping to keep Cornwall moving.
As part of Transport for Cornwall, the network changes have been agreed in collaboration with Cornwall Council and are part of changes announced today for all bus services in Cornwall.
James Eustace, Commercial Director for Cornwall by Kernow, said: “These twice-yearly network changes in Cornwall are made using the latest passenger data, local feedback and input from our drivers to bring improved timetables and focus on areas of demand.
“We’ve added in new stops on the U1 to serve Newquay station, as well as better connections introduced for the 24 and 24X to provide connections across St Austell towards Mevagissey and Heligan. Where we’ve made revisions or reductions in service, we’ve worked hard to ensure we are still providing alternative routes to cover these areas.”
