Changes in Somerset to improve bus services
Buses of Somerset is making timetable changes to some services in Somerset. The changes, which have been added to improve service and capacity, come into force on June 3, 2024.
Changes are aimed at providing additional capacity on the 28 / X28 route, as well as amends to the Taunton Town services 2 & 4 to improve punctuality in the afternoon peak period.
In addition, working in partnership with the Yeovil Chamber of Commerce, Buses of Somerset is trialling a route to Yeovilton Air Base on the 54, serving people working at the base as well as visitors to the Royal Navy Fleet Air Museum. The trial will run until September 2024.

4 Taunton Town Service New Timetable - Monday to Friday afternoon peak journey retimed to assist with punctuality
28/X28 Taunton – Minehead New Timetable - Additional journeys between Taunton and Bishops Lydeard to ease capacity issues. Service X28 will operate at different times throughout the day

James Eustace, Commercial Director for Buses of Somerset, said: “We want to get our service right in Somerset, and following customer feedback on our April network changes, we have made some amends. It was clear we needed to add more journeys to the popular 28/X28 route, and re look at services 2 and 4 to further improve punctuality.
“Working in partnership with Yeovil Chamber of Commerce we’re pleased to be trialling a route to Yeovilton's Fleet Air Arm Museum, to support both those working on the base as well as visitors to the museum.”
